So cool that I had to stop and see what was inside this building! Looking through the windows I could see mac's and cinema displays. Wow I have to get inside! I wonder around pulling on doors, only yo find them locked...finally an open door!

I was greeted by Jacob Villanueva who kindly took the time to show me around this incredible studio. As it turns out Super!Alright! is a collective of freelance visual media artists specializing in visual media such as commercial and music video, web design, graphic design, and photography, with the goal to create an ever-broadening base of creatives working in all forms of media.

Breakaway Records

Stashed away in Austin's east side Breakaway Records is a quaint spot that carries record rarities and uncommonly low-cost vinyl . I hear all the time there aren't good record shops in Austin, well I suspect folks aren't looking in the right place!

Big Top Candy Store!

When in Austin, you have to visit the Greatest Candy Shop on Earth...Big Top!

iphone pix

BT-1

Proprietor Brandon Hodge was very cool and took some time to tell me about his art. Steampunk music instruments...awesomely crafted wonders, based on the design of steam powered machines and gear driven mechanisms!

BT-2

BT-3

The store itself is inviting and captivating. I just want to hang out for an hour or two and listen to the cool music and take in the intoxicating smell of candy and ice cream. The walls lined with circus and freak-show posters, banners and old photos, gives the place a parlor feel with old wooden auditorium style benches to chill out while enjoying tasty treats you want to come back everyday!

BT-4

Did I mention all the delicious candy and ice cream?

And now...the instruments!
